Dial-up Settings Windows ME

1)   Click on Start, Settings, then Dialup Networking
2)   Right click on the Carolina Chat Icon, left click on Properties
Or (left click on Carolina Chat Icon once, then left click on File, Properties)
3)   Under General Tab
       A) Phone # 414-0340 
            B) Use area code and dialing properties    Unchecked
C) Click on Configure button
1) Maximum Speed:  arrow down and choose 38400
2) Hit OK
      4)   Under Networking Tab
             A) Advanced Options
                 1) Enable Software Compression    Checked
                 2) Record a log file for this connection    Unchecked
             B) Allowed Network Protocols
     1) NetBEUI    Unchecked
     2) IPX/SPX    Unchecked
     3) TCP/IP    Checked
             C) Click on TCP/IP Settings
                 1) Select   (Server Assigned IP Address)
                 2) Select   (Server Assigned Name Server Address)
                 3) Use IP Header Compression    Checked
                 4) Use Default Gateway on Remote Network    Checked
       5)   Under Security Tab
               A) Authentication
1) User Name: johndoe
2) Password: ***** (one that you provided us)
3) Domain: Leave blank
4) Connect Automatically: Your Choice
               B) Advanced Security Options
                   1) Log on to Network    Unchecked
                   2) Require Encrypted Password    Unchecked
                   3) Require Data Encryption    Unchecked
       6)   Under Dialing
               A) This is the Default Internet Connection    Checked
                   1) Never Dial a connection    Unselected
                   2) Dial Whenever a network Connection is not Present    Unselected
                   3) Always Dial my Default Connection    Selected
               B) Redial Settings
1) Leave as Default Settings
               C) Enable Idle Disconnect    Unchecked
               D) Disconnect When Connection May not be Needed    Checked
      7)   Your Setting are Configured. Hit OK!
